The Chatterbox GMRS X1 Communicator is the strongest unit on the market with a range of up to 5 miles! It has 15 channels and 38 talk groups and can also be used as a rider to passenger communicator with the addition of an extra, optional headset and extension cord.

The communicator can be used in one of two ways, "push to talk" or "voice activated.

" The voice activation feature has a sensitivity adjustment so you control when the unit is activated.

The kit includes a push to talk button as well for a little less tempting way to use the unit and to conserve battery power, as talking uses more power than listening.

The mounting system fixes the unit to the side of your helmet, but aerodynamics are clean and the weight is almost unnoticable.

You may also mount the unit to your belt (requires an optional headset extension cord and belt clip) or somewhere out of the way on your bike.

The stereo speakers offer a clear sound, but at very high speeds it will be competing with helmet noise.

The speakers are attached to the inside of the helmet using velcro, or can fit in pockets available on some brands of helmets such as HJC.

The X1 also features a input to hook up a walkman or the optional, super small Chatterbox AM/FM radio (requires an optional audio cord).

The five mile range is great for group riders to let each other know road condition and makes every ride a little safer.
